AVAILABLE THROUGH FEBRUARY 28, 2013 The Star-Spangled Banner Pass is a convenient way to visit Baltimore’s key 1812 sites to learn more about the War of 1812.
Browse through the War of 1812 exhibit at the Maryland Historical Society which includes the original manuscript of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” written by Francis Scott Key at the end of the bombardment of Fort McHenry.
Visit the home of Mary Pickersgill (Star-Spangled Banner Flag House), where the 15-star 15-stripe flag that flew over the fort during the Battle of Baltimore was sewn.
Finally, see Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, where U.S. soldiers fought off the British navy’s bombardment that lasted 25 hours and changed the course of the war.
Pass is not available for start dates on Sunday or Monday..
